One of those rare bands that were both of their time and timeless, the Bangles paid homage to the great rock and roll styles of the ‘60s and updated it for ‘80s pop audiences. The most successful act to emerge from the “Paisley Underground” music scene in Los Angeles, this all-female quartet commanded the charts with a combination of irresistible pop hooks and a visual flair that earned them heavy rotation on MTV.

Thanks to hits and fan favorites like “Going Down To Liverpool” (accompanied by a video featuring Leonard Nimoy), the Prince-penned “Manic Monday,” chart toppers like “Walk Like An Egyptian” and the ballad “Eternal Flame,” and a hard-driving cover of Simon & Garfunkel’s “Hazy Shade Of Winter,” the Bangles’ powerful pop resonates regardless of the decade.
